Rural Veterans Gain Better Access to Specialized Medical Care

The Senate approved a bill would allow veterans living in rural areas to access more easily specialized medical care from private doctors. The bill opens up private care to veterans living within a 40 mile radius of a medical facility run by the Department of Veterans Affairs, as long as the VA site does not offer the care required.
