In advance of the New Jersey Drug Affordability Unit’s October 15 meeting and extended public comment period on its policy recommendations, Aimed Alliance submitted a letter supporting several recommendations aimed at improving prescription drug affordability and patient access. The comment endorses increased transparency and public participation, a review of utilization management practices and their impact on patient access, enhanced PBM transparency and reforms, consideration of a New Jersey state-run PBM, protections ensuring that lower-cost prescription purchases count toward patients’ cost-sharing obligations, and greater transparency within the 340B Drug Pricing Program. Aimed Alliance urged the Council to include these recommendations in its final report, emphasizing their potential to reduce barriers to care and strengthen accountability across the drug supply chain.
