NY AG Schneiderman’s Investigates Insurers’ Lack of Hepatitis C Drug Coverage

Adobe InvestigationNew York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has initiated an investigation into whether health insurance companies are inappropriately rationing Hepatitis C drugs in order to pad their bottom lines. Schneiderman’s office has issued 16 subpoenas seeking information on which patients were denied drugs and why. The investigation focuses on whether customers were properly informed regarding what was and was not covered, and whether insurers were being upfront with their beneficiaries.
