Ca. Introduces Bill To Help Patients Who Are Forced To Switch Health Plans

Insurers that withdraw from the health exchange marketplaces can disrupt patient care because such patients may lose access to their health care providers under their new plan. Proposed continuity of care legislation in California allows patients with individual health insurance plans and chronic, acute, or terminal illnesses to keep their providers for up to a year, even if the providers do not contract with the new health plan.
