Morning Consult has published an op-ed by Aimed Alliance’s Executive Director, Stacey L. Worthy. The op-ed discusses a proposed rule from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) that would give insurers new regulatory loopholes within the Affordable Care Act (ACA). HHS proposes to cut the open enrollment period, get rid of “guaranteed availability” provisions, and create consequences for people who lose health insurance. Ms. Worthy states that these proposed regulations would be a way for insurers to return to the time before the ACA was enacted, when many people were excluded from coverage due to their health condition.
