An 85 percent price hike for group health insurance premiums is hurting small business owners in California. Santa Cruz businesses anticipated a 10 to 12 percent rate increase from the Affordable Care Act (ACA), hoping that prices would drop as more people obtained health coverage; however, the prediction was far from actuality.
