This webinar will address workplace risks and safety considerations associated with marijuana as a health benefit as HR professionals select health benefits for the 2022 plan year and beyond.
Legalization of marijuana creates distinct challenges for HR professionals, including issues related to hiring, termination, and workplace safety. Beyond recreational use, employers are also faced with the fact their employees may use marijuana for medical reasons, even though the products employees use have not undergone FDA review and approval to ensure safety, efficacy, and quality.
In this program, physician Maria Lopes will examine what employers should consider when selecting employee health plans in an era where the use of medical marijuana is becoming more prevalent. Additionally, board-certified psychologist and addiction specialist Aaron Weiner, will discuss the risks and practical implications of legal marijuana use by employees. The session will be moderated by Aimed Alliance’s counsel, Shruti Kulkarni.
