On March 16, Aimed Alliance submitted a comment on the proposed settlement between the Federal Trade Commission and Express Scripts, IncEvernorth Health, Inc., Medco Health Services, Inc., and Ascent Health Services LLC. Aimed Alliance’s comment applauded the settlement provisions that ensured savings pass directly to health care consumers. Aimed Alliance also urged the FTC to clarify how the settlement defines “ESI programs that reduce out-of-pocket costs for members” to ensure this considers all consumer out-of-pocket costs and does not result in the perpetuation of copay accumulator and maximizer programs.
