On October 10, 2024, the National AI Advisory Committee released its draft transition plan for the incoming administration. The report aims to enhance opportunities and mitigate the risks associated with AI use both within the government and the broader public. It outlines strategies involving funding, executive actions, regulations, enforcement, and other tools available to the President and the White House. The report highlights the top ten priority areas that require immediate executive action:

  1. Workforce Development
  2. AI Awareness and Literacy
  3. Education
  4. Scientific Research
  5. Healthcare
  6. AI Integration in Government
  7. Support for Small Businesses, Entrepreneurship, and Economic Opportunities
  8. AI Governance
  9. AI in the Public Interest

For each of these areas, the report identifies key issues and proposes solutions that are essential to implement within the first 100 days of the new administration. The Committee plans to present a comprehensive report for a Committee vote during its next public session in December. Read the draft report.
