A new policy at a New Jersey correctional facility aims to reduce inmates’ medical costs by limiting copays to $10 for dental and medical care and $5 for prescription drugs. This news comes as other jails across the state have implemented similar policies and have seen success. Sussex County Sheriff Michael Strada acknowledged that the institution must provide necessary health care to inmates while they are incarcerated, but “this does not prevent the jail from implementing policies that will help offset current medical expenses.” Click here to read more.
