Aimed Alliance sent a letter in support of New Jersey Senate Bill 1192, which aims to prohibits the use of utilization management tools, such as prior authorization and step therapy, for prescription drugs used to treat serious mental illnesses (SMIs). These conditions, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, and PTSD, require timely, individualized treatment and step therapy and prior authorization often delay or disrupt access to necessary medications. By eliminating these utilization management barriers, S.1192 will help ensure that patients with SMIs can access the most effective treatments without harmful delays. Read the letter here.
