Aimed Alliance’s Director of Public Policy Stacey L. Worthy will be a panelist at Vital Options International’s “Right Patient. Right Treatment. Right Now.” discussion and live webcast, which will be held adjacent to the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Cancer Conference on Sunday, May 31 in Chicago, Illinois.
The discussion will examine how to remove barriers to access, including low reimbursement for cancer therapies through large co-pays and high tiers, lower reimbursement rates for oral therapies, and delayed access to new treatments because of fail first/step policies. The panel of patients and experts will also explore issues associated with expedited approvals such as faster access for critically ill patients, how shorter approval times can save billions in development costs, and how faster responsible access can save lives.
