The Morning Consult featured an op-ed by Aimed Alliance’s Director of Public Policy, Stacey L. Worthy, discussing the negative impact of Institute for Clinical and Economic Review’s (ICER’s) framework on patients’ lives. In her op-ed, Ms. Worthy discusses how ICER uses so called “value-based” rationing formulas to recommend price caps for medications that treat rare, chronic, and life-threatening conditions determinations. ICER’s rationing formulas lead to lengthy delays in care, treatment that is inconsistent with medical standards of care, and restrictions on access to live-saving medications.
