VA Makes Veterans Wait Months for Appropriate Medical Care

Waiting in LineVeterans commonly wait for months before seeing a medical provider, if they enrolled for health care from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). There is an average wait time of 22 to 71 days for veterans at the six medical centers studied by the Government Accountability Office, with many veterans claiming the VA either never followed up on their requests to be contacted or they were simply left off the eligibility list in error with no explanation. The study suggests that the VA has been manipulating their wait time data to produce artificially low results. Read more here.
