Study Finds Costs for Treating Patients with Cancer Increased at Same Rate as other Health Care Spending

Hand writing Cancer with blue marker on transparent wipe board.A new Milliman study commissioned by the Community Oncology Alliance (COA) found that the total costs of treating cancer patients in the United States have increased at essentially the same rate as overall costs for Medicare and commercially insured populations over the past decade. This study disproves the commonly held misbelief that cancer care costs have rapidly outpaced other health care spending trends since 2004.
