Researchers found that in states expanding Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act, low-income adults were more likely to stay overnight in a hospital, receive their first high cholesterol or diabetes diagnosis, and to see a doctor to generate a report of your diagnosis. However, the study, published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, also found no improvement in adults’ own assessments of their health. Learn more about the study here.
