Silicon Valley entrepreneur Sean Parker is donating $250 million to launch a San Francisco-based effort to develop cancer immunotherapy treatments. Immunotherapy harnesses the power of the body’s immune system to fight cancer. Mr. Parker’s donation will create a network of more than 300 researchers from Stanford University, the University of Pennsylvania, UCSF, Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York and more to form the new Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy.
