Over the past 25 years, the prognosis for individuals with HIV has dramatically changed from a high likelihood of death to a long life with a chronic disease. Nevertheless, patients still face high rates of stigma, including from their physicians, leading to inferior access to treatment. Aimed Alliance supports fair access to treatment for everyone and proper education of those in the health care industry to reduce stigma based on outdated and disproven assumptions.
