Drawing on the findings of a physician survey released by Aimed Alliance in October, the organization’s Director of Medical Affairs, Dr. Shannon Ginnan, calls on legislators to find ways to restore autonomy for health care providers who are increasingly losing control over medical decision making due to cost-saving strategies used by health insurers. Dr. Ginnan cites poorer quality of care and looming physician shortages as consequences of unqualified health insurer personnel making decisions about which medicines and treatments patients may receive.
