On May 23, 2023, Aimed Alliance sent a letter to the Connecticut Insurance Commissioner requesting he take action to address how Connecticut union worker’ health plans are using non-essential health benefit programs. Considering the Connecticut Insurance Commissioner has primary authority to implement and ensure compliance with the ACA, Aimed Alliance requested the Commissioner clarify that the use of these programs is inconsistent with the ACA and Connecticut state law.
