On May 31, 2024, Aimed Alliance joined 19 other members of the Alternative Funding Program Taskforce to send a letter to the Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Labor, and Department of Treasury regarding the upcoming 2025 NBPP rulemaking. The letter urges the tri-agencies to ensure the non-essential health benefit justification is closed by ensuring 45 C.F.R. Section 156.122 (c), (d), and (f) apply to all non-grandfathered health plans. In addition, the letter urges the final rule to include an additional provision that limits the ability of health plans to require an application to a patient assistance program as a prerequisite to a coverage decision.
