As part of a nationwide class action settlement, a health insurance company has agreed to expand its hepatitis C drug coverage. Previously, hepatitis C medications had been limited to patients with severe fibrosis or cirrhosis and patients were required to demonstrate abstinence from drug or alcohol use for at least six months prior to treatment. This company has agreed to remove both restrictions from its policies.
