The Alliance for Mental Health Care Access (AMHCA) is excited to share a new patient and provider survey on experiences with non-medical switching in mental health. Patients with mental health conditions rely on stable insurance coverage to access prescribed medications. Unfortunately, health plans and pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) have taken steps to limit coverage, increase cost sharing, and impose other burdensome utilization policies that are increasingly causing patients with mental health conditions to switch treatments for non-medical reasons, such as cost or access.
AMHCA wants to hear from patients and providers about their experiences, any challenges patients face in affording and accessing necessary treatments, and issues providers face in prescribing these treatments for mental health conditions.
