The Ohio legislature passed SB 265, which strengthens protections for patients who are subject to step therapy by their insurer. Step therapy occurs after a doctor prescribes medication an insurance company may consider too new or expensive, forcing the patient to try other drugs that may not work before the company will pay for their original prescription.
