New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has filed a lawsuit against a health insurance company for denying coverage of drugs that cure hepatitis C in most patients. The health insurer refused to pay for the treatment unless patients provided proof of an advanced stage of the disease, including moderate or severe liver scarring. Moreover, the lawsuit also claims the insurer restricted coverage of these drugs due to their cost, but never disclosed that cost was a factor to their patients. Read more about the lawsuit here.
