According to Morning Consult’s new poll, Americans are angrier with health insurers than with pharmaceutical companies or the federal government over the rising costs of health care. Of those polled, 31% hold health insurance companies responsible for rising health care costs over the past ten years, compared with 25% who blame the government and 13% who think pharmaceutical companies have caused the increase. Scrutiny is particularly strong due to the proposed mergers of four of the largest health insurers in the nation, which would likely increase costs even more.
