The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not yet approved a vaccine or treatment for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). However, several companies around the world have begun developing vaccines and treatments in response to the global outbreak of the virus. As more companies engage in this effort, keeping track of the products that are under development has become a dizzying task. To keep the public informed about current vaccine and treatment development efforts, the Milken Institute, a nonprofit think tank, has launched a coronavirus vaccine and treatment tracker. The tracker provides information and updates on nearly 60 treatments and 43 vaccines currently in development, including the type of treatment, the product’s developer, other conditions that the product is approved by the FDA to treat, clinical trials where the drug is being tested for the treatment of other conditions, sources of funding, and the anticipated timeline for the product’s completion of clinical trials and market availability.
