Insurer Sued on Allegations of Hidden Fees & Gag Clauses

Plan participants have sued an insurer for overcharging for prescription medications. The plaintiffs allege that the insurer charged “hidden bogus fees” and employed “gag clauses,” which required pharmacists not to tell their patients how much their prescriptions actually cost and prohibited them from providing lower-cost alternatives to patients.
