An expert panel from the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine Health has devised a plan to eliminate two types of hepatitis by 2030 by persuading the federal government to purchase the rights to one or more of the costly new medications that can essentially cure hepatitis C. The panel also recommended a campaign to vaccinate all adults against hepatitis B, expanding needle exchange programs, and treating Americans who unknowingly carry the virus. Read more here.
