When employees cannot afford their medications, they may rely on copay assistance (i.e., coupon cards from drug manufacturers). Copay assistance not only contributes toward the employees’ copayments or coinsurance but also count toward their annual deductibles and maximum out-of-pocket limits. However, health plans are increasingly implementing copay accumulator programs, which are policies that prevent the value of the assistance from counting toward an employee’s deductible.

Join Aimed Alliance for a FREE webinar on July 29, 2020 from 3:00 to 4:00 pm ET. This webinar will explore recent legislative and regulatory developments regarding copay accumulator programs, the impact that these programs can have on employees, a patient story, and recommendations for employers who wish to implement a copay accumulator program while limiting their risk of liability and the impact on their employees’ health.

Participants will be able to:

  • Understand the recent laws and regulations that apply to copay accumulator programs that are included in employee health benefits;
  • Explain how a copay accumulator program can adversely affect employees’ health; and
  • Implement best practices for copay accumulator programs that are included in employee health benefits.
