On March 28, 2019, Aimed Alliance sent a letter of support for Texas HB 2099, which would restrict insurers’ ability to modify their prescription drug formularies in the middle of the plan year. Specifically, this legislation would only allow insurers to modify their formularies during the open enrollment period and requires insurers to provide 60-days’ advance notice to all plan beneficiaries and the state’s insurance commissioner. If enacted, these protections will help ensure that patients can receive continuous coverage of the medications they are currently stable on.
