Aimed Alliance’s Director of Medical Affairs, Dr. Shannon Ginnan, testified on an innovative buprenorphine subdermal implant under consideration for approval at today’s U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Psychopharmalogic Drugs Advisory Committee Hearing. The new drug application is for the proposed indication of maintenance treatment of opioid dependence. Dr. Ginnan noted that the medication’s novel delivery system (i.e., an implant) would increase the likelihood that patients comply with their treatment plans—a vital component of substance use disorder treatment.
