We recently learned that a Blue Care Network of Michigan is planning to rescind coverage of a medication on May 1, 2019, forcing stable patients to switch to a different treatment. Because this was done in the middle of the plan year, patients are unable to enroll in a different health plan that would cover this medication. Aimed Alliance sent a letter to the health plan, sharing details with them about the dangers of nonmedical switching and requesting that they no longer engage in these practices.
