Aimed Alliance submitted a letter to the Kansas Legislature, urging the Committee on Financial Institutions and Insurance to evaluate the potential impact of S.B. 212, which seeks to create a prescription drug affordability board. The letter recommends exploring alternative measures that more effectively lower prescription drug costs for consumers, such as implementing a copay accumulator ban, establishing step therapy and prior authorization safeguards, and enacting reforms for pharmacy benefit managers. Aimed Alliance also urged the committee to prioritize patient representation and ensure an accessible consumer engagement process is available if the committee moves forward with the legislation.
