Analysis Indicates Rising Costs for ACA Plans in 2025

0

A new analysis released by KFF Health System Tracker found that insurers participating in ACA-regulated health plans are proposing a median premium increase of seven percent for 2025. The analysis covers 324 insurers across all 50 states and DC, with most proposed premium changes ranging between two and ten percent. Major factors driving premium changes include inflation, increasing health care costs, and increasing use of specialty drugs, particularly weight loss medications. Hospital consolidation and workforce shortages also contributed to increases in premiums. These initial filings are subject to revision during the rate review process, with final 2025 rates expected to be determined by late summer. Read the analysis.
