Aimed Alliance Study on Provider Burnout Referenced by Electronic Health Reporter

Last October, we published the findings from our survey of primary care providers that gauged their perceptions of the burdens that come with the practice of medicine. Among these burdens are requirements imposed on them by private insurers, like prior authorization and step therapy, which can interfere with patients’ and providers’ joint decision-making. The findings of this report were recently referenced by Electronic Health Reporter, which published an article exploring the causes of the national shortage of physicians. This article drew a connection between the challenges caused by private insurers and government mandates regarding electronic health records. The article emphasized how these kinds of gratuitous regulations are pushing doctors out of the practice of medicine. Read more.
